Tips and Tricks for Caravan Organisation and Storage

This page is specifically for the Ladies........

Caravan storage can often prove to be quite a real dilemma, especially when you find yourself downsizing from a spacious 20 square home to a more compact 19'6" home on wheels.   Not only do you need to be resourceful and innovative with the ways things are stored, but you also want to design and create a space that feels comfortable, welcoming, and homely, all while ensuring it remains practical and functional for everyday use.

This page is all about practical storage solutions tailored to my space, along with recommendations for items I truly love and trust.

Storage Solutions

Packing Cubes

Small cupboards can quickly become cluttered and disorganised. Using packing cubes to store clothing and smaller items helps keep everything neatly in place and easily accessible.

Simesta Ultra  Containers

Sistema Ultra clear containers fit perfectly in my caravan pantry and cupboards.

The glass-like ultra-clear plastic lets you easily view contents.

The containers are built to last with a durable, shatter-resistant design. They are stackable for easy storage, and the locking clips ensure an airtight seal, keeping your food fresher for longer.

Drawer Organisers

Traditional cutlery trays often waste valuable drawer space. The Joseph & Joseph Cutlery and Knife Storage solutions are designed to keep your cutlery neatly organised, secure, and space-efficient.

Fusion Loc

Fusion-Loc provide a range of vacuum Suction accessories that are quick and easy to install with no drilling into your caravan walls.  Product I use include a shower caddy in the shower to keep hair and soap containers secure, a hand towel rail and I use a hat rail in our bedroom area to hang our akubra hats using Klipsta hat clips.

TIAV Wall Pockets

You can never have too much storage in your caravan. That’s why our van is designed with convenience in mind. You’ll find handy bedside pockets, and a practical pocket above the external door.  I have also added a large TIAV pocket in the lounge area—perfect for keeping books, magazines, reading glasses, and other essentials within easy reach.  The pocket securely attaches using adhesive strips, eliminating the need for drilling.

TIAV Dish Rack

To optimize bench space, our caravan is designed without a built-in dish drainer. Instead, we use the TIAV expandable dish rack, which is compact and easy to store when not in use. It also features a built-in plug for convenient water drainage.

Corelle Dinner Set

Over the years, I’ve experimented with various unbreakable dinner sets made from materials like metal enamel, bamboo, and melamine. While each has its merits, nothing quite matches the elegance and feel of real crockery. That’s where Corelle stands out—it offers the refined touch of crockery, combined with lightweight convenience and exceptional durability, making it perfect for off-road adventures.
